Magic in the Mundane
A wise man changes his mind, a fool never will - Icelandic Proverb

ABOUT MUNDANE:
We came from Denmark. And Sweden, and Norway, and the Netherlands. We are a first generation Scandinavian family that settled in Canada... but like many immigrants at that time, we lost touch with relatives (pre-internet life), and as a result our language, and our cultural practices from our home countries.
For the past years I’ve studied, been an apprentice of and student of many folklore traditions from our ancestry including (but not limited to) Seidr, Trolldom and Folklore Magic and Folk Practices. None of this matters in terms of “proof” or “ancestry”; but rather that this deep longing to connect felt right by starting originally where I know my family lineage is from. Cultural appropriation concerns are of course very real. We always strive to educate ourselves on various practices including those that are closed while advancing our own open practices and accepting others how they feel they have been called.
Of course, each individual’s spiritual & religious practices are just that - deeply personal and hopefully profound. It’s important to me that I strongly note: You don’t need specific tools or materia to connect with your craft—what matters is your intention and authenticity for yourself. That said, I’ve found that certain oils, salts, and ritual materia can add layers of depth to my practice, helping me to embody my role as a practitioner more fully. If these tools resonate with you, I’m happy to share them.
All of the items I have for adoption here should be considered “limited runs” as they are all handmade, packaged, designed, printed, photographed & shipped by my two hands. Many / most of the product ingredients are harvested from one of the many areas I call home, but primarily (currently) in the Pacific Northwest. At times I also do short runs (for example on specific moons on a specific year that can only be made one time), so if that interests you - sign up for email updates and I’ll do my best to update you on what is coming up next.
It’s important to note that my work is not about recreating the past. While I honor the traditions and wisdom of my ancestors, I believe in the evolution of thought and practice. My approach is about adapting ancient ways to modern life, infusing rituals with intention, authenticity, and heart.
My hope is to create a sense of connection—a space where we can inspire and support one another in our spiritual journeys, regardless of ancestry. After all, we are all connected. The magic of animism lies in recognizing that connection, in finding beauty and meaning in the everyday; afterall, the magic is in the mundane.
As I step forward into this calling, I want to emphasize the importance of respect and integrity. Racism, sexism, bigotry, and other forms of hateful intolerance have no place here. My practice is rooted in appreciation for all cultures and spiritual traditions, and I strive to honor that in everything I do.
